With a good pair of galoshes or tennis shoes, you’re sure to find our trails are perfect for a hand-in-hand walk through the woods.
At the screen house located at the end of the trail, relax together with nature all around you. Take a picnic basket to the Gazebo in the woods overlooking our lily pond and while-away the afternoon with a carefully chosen bottle of wine, homemade sourdough bread and a huge variety of treats.
When evening comes, you’ll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet from an Adirondack chair on the lawn or stargaze into an amazing open sky view and celebrate every moment of being together with the one you love!

Biking on the Kal-Haven Trail is one of the top springtime activities. Bring your bikes along and head out for countryside bike rides. Email us in advance about the number of miles and the degree of difficulty you want, and he’ll give you some suggestions by the time you arrive at the Inn.
Horseback ride at Wild West Ranch, approximately a 20-minute drive from the Inn.
Shop local farmers markets. Ask our Innkeepers for dates and locations of markets in Allegan, Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven, and Grand Rapids. All offer the freshest in-season fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, honey, herbs, flowers, and more.
Experience the Butterflies in Bloom Exhibit at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids during March and April. It is the nation’s largest temporary tropical butterfly exhibition, where butterflies from around the world fly freely in the Tropical Conservatory.
Tiptoe through the tulips and celebrate spring’s return at Tulip Time in Holland during the first week of May. Enjoy Dutch culture, dancing, parades, music, and of course, plenty of tulips at this annual festival in Holland, MI.

Tantrick Brewing Co. – Allegan, MI. This riverfront restaurant in downtown Allegan offers a wide variety of rotating taps of beer, wine, cider, and seltzers along with a menu featuring an eclectic array of finger foods, pub fare, and specialty ice cream. Also situated in the local social district, grab a drink and checkout our historic little town!
Four Roses – Plainwell, MI. Their menu changes daily and is made from only the freshest ingredients the chef was able to purchase from local farmers that morning. They also have a lengthy list of desserts, perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Salt of the Earth — Fennville, MI. A farm-to-table restaurant featuring local fresh and organic ingredients from within 50 miles of the restaurant. The menu changes with the seasons, and all meals are made from scratch.
New Holland Brewing Company — Holland, MI. Not only do they have carefully crafted beers and spirits, but their dining menu is also homemade and features locally grown products — definitely more than just the typical pub food.
Crane’s Pie Pantry — Fennville, MI. Nestled on a farm of lush fruit orchards, find a menu of comfort food, like homemade soups, sandwiches, bread, and fruit pies. Order dessert or purchase a pie to take home with you. If you find yourself in Holland for the day, you’ll also find their homemade goodness at Crane’s in the City.
